Head to KTR this Saturday night for a FREE showing of “Underexposed”.  If you like watching girls shred and want to learn a little more about the professional skate industry, don’t miss this!  The movie will begin at 8PM. Get your skate on before the move at Open Skate from 6-8PM.

Support a Good Cause: Skateistan Fundraiser

Come skate KTR on Saturday, April 20 from 12pm-6pm, and help raise money for the non-profit organization Skateistan.  Skateistan helps to improve the lives of underserved kids around the world by providing a safe environment for eduction and recreation, as well as, offering equipment and instruction needed to learn and enjoy skateboarding! 50% of Open Skate admission fees from 12-6pm sessions will be donated to Skateistan. It’s going to be a good time with music, contests and raffles all day! Learn more about Skateistan on their website.

Congrats Alana Smith! 4th Place Combi Pool Classic

KTR Academy skater, Alana Smith, came blasting out the gates and held her own against the Pros in the 2013 VANS Girls Combi Pool Classic, on January 19. At only 13 years old, Alana competed in the 15-27 Pro Division and landed a 4th place! We can’t wait to see what she throws down next year! Keep up the good work Alana!

Good Luck Alana Smith! VANS Combi Pool Classic


KTR Academy skater, Alana Smith, has been invited to compete in the 2013 Girls Combi Pool Classic on January 19. This is an invite-only competitor event and closed to the public. The contest gathers the top girls from around the nation for a heated contest in the Combi Pool at VANS skatepark in Orange, CA. Alana Smith is skating in the Division 2 (15-27 year old), which at 12 years old is a tougher division for her.  Though an all girls contest, lots of top male pro skaters, magazines and endemic companies show up for the event.  KTR will be out at the contest, so choose your medium and follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for full coverage.

Start Practicing for King of the Groms & Ams

King of the Groms & King of the Ams skateboard competition series is making their last qualifying stop at KTR in Mesa, AZ. KTR will be running the following FREE practice clinics to help you dial runs and work on tricks.

Congrats to KTR skaters Augie Lerma, Armando Lerma and Aaron Arrieta for placing in the King of the Groms and King of the Ams at Skatelab in Simi Valley last weekend!  Check out the results below.

Christian Hosoi Stops by KTR!

Christian Hosoi made a surprise visit to KTR while in town for one of his tour stops. Some of our Academy class skaters and parents were already there for a skate clinic and demo and got to hang out and skate with him.
