The 2013 Tampa Am is this weekend, and both Jett and Jagger Eaton have been invited to compete! The Tampa Am has had 20 years of industry success of discovering and unveiling some of the the most talented amateur skateboarders in history. Many of its past winners have turned pro. Needless to say, getting an invite is not easy. The Skatepark of Tampa is host to the contest, and will be providing a live webcast of the contest through their website, beginning Dec. 7th. Last year, Jagger landed a spot on the podium at age 11, and you can bet he’s got lots more in store for this year! It takes 20 hours of air travel to get there, but it’s well worth the trip once you’ve made it! Kimberley, South Africa, is full of cool animals and landscape you won’t find anywhere in the U.S. This past week, KTR‘s Jett and Jagger Eaton had the chance to get acquainted with the town of Kimberley as part of the professional skateboard contest, Kimberley Diamond Cup. Between holding lions, visiting diamond mines, bunjee jumping, and swimming with sharks, there was also lots of shredding that went down!

KTR skater, Jagger Eaton, will soon be adding South Africa to the list of places skateboarding has taken him this year. The Kimberley Diamond Cup is a professional skateboarding contest set in Kimberley, South Africa, which has taken the place of the previous Maloof Money Cup Championship event. The Diamond Cup has Street, Vert and Mini-Mega events, all of which Jagger Eaton has been invited to compete to compete in! The event takes places Sept. 27-29. We wish Jagger Good Luck!

The 12th Annual PHXAM is right around the corner on April 6 & 7! Five KTR skaters will be competing in the event: Augie Lerma, Jett Eaton, Jagger Eaton, Alana Smith and Deshawn Jordan. Skating KTR together for as long as they can remember, these friends are now skating in the PHX AM together! One of the youngest riders in the competition at age 12, and possibly the only girl is Alana Smith. This will be Jagger’s 3rd year at Tampa Am, he placed 18th out of 184 competitors last year. If you haven’t heard, X Games has gone Global! With summer skateboarding events in Brazil, Spain, Germany and L.A., competitors have been selected to represent countries from all across the globe. KTR’s Jagger Eaton has been invited as an alternate to represent the US at the Foz Do Iguacu, Brazil, stop in the “Big Air” event, April 18-21, 2013. This means he needs to be prepared to skate at a moments notice. Jagger will be departing for Brazil a week before the event. Catch the Games on ESPN, here’s a full schedule to see FOZ air times. Invites for Barcelona, Spain- Munich, Germany and L.A. will be announced in the coming months as well.
Earlier this week you might not have recognized Jett Eaton, Jagger Eaton and Trey Wood at the skatepark. That’s because they were wearing wigs for doubles in disguise for a Hyundai commercial. You’ll have to wait until Super Bowl weekend to see the whole commercial, but here’s a few shots from the set. Professional skateboarders: Mini Knoop and Ben Hatchell were also on set.
Jagger Eaton puts together a flawless run on his 3rd and final run during the 2012 Tampa AM Final! The youngest guy in the skate contest at 11 years old got 3rd place- out of 300 skaters from all over the world! Here’s his run and a few photos from the great wknd. This year’s Tampa Am has the most competitors in the competitions history. Out of 300 skaters in Friday/Saturdays qualifiers, only 32 would make the cut for Sunday’s semi-finals. Jagger Eaton qualified 11th on Saturday, giving him a spot in Sunday’s semis. We also want to congratuale Dashawn Jordan who qualified for the semis on Friday!
